“SDGs General Education Training
Since November 2023, the PEPPA Project’s SDGs General Education Training Program has conducted 13 Training-of-Trainers (ToT) sessions across Beijing, Shenzhen, Dali, Chongqing, Kunming and so on.
More than 100 adult trainees from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan have participated in the program. The initiative aims to cultivate a network of 300 certified SDGs General Education mentors, building long-term capacity for sustainable development education nationwide.
In the summer of 2025, certified trainees began empowering youth by delivering SDG General Education across Beijing, Shenzhen, Langfang, Nanjing, Suzhou, Qinhuangdao, and Yinchuan. Utilizing participatory pedagogy, these programs were integrated into various summer camps and school curricula to foster active global citizenship.

More than 200 students successfully completed our rigorous training and assessments, earning the prestigious title of ‘SDG Youth Promoter.’ The program has been met with exceptional feedback from educators and participants alike, underscoring its effectiveness in mobilizing the next generation of sustainability leaders.

SDGs Experiential Practice
Since its launch in 2017, the implementation institution of PEPPA, Global Youth Tie has consistently centered its exploration on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To date, nearly 1,000 Chinese young people have stepped beyond the classroom into real-world sustainability contexts. From local sustainable development field studies within China, to cross-cultural immersion experiences in the United Kingdom, Thailand, the United States, Kenya, Dubai, and ecological and urban sustainability observations in Australia, participants have engaged with diverse global sustainability practices firsthand.
Through authentic, place-based learning experiences, young people encounter the SDGs not as abstract concepts, but as living realities. By walking the landscapes of global sustainable development, they deepen their understanding of the future and cultivate a strong sense of responsibility as global citizens.”
