This five-day immersive study tour takes place in Xi’an, the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties and the historic starting point of the Silk Road. The program bridges China’s profound cultural heritage with modern intelligent manufacturing, offering students a unique learning journey through history, technology, and sustainability.
Guided by the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the program integrates heritage conservation, industrial innovation, responsible production, and climate awareness into a contextualized and inquiry-based learning experience.
Participants will:
• Explore iconic heritage sites including the Ming City Wall, Hanyang Mausoleum, and the Mausoleum of Emperor Qinshihuang, examining the balance between urban development and cultural preservation
• Visit the Geely “Lights-Out” Intelligent Manufacturing Factory to understand automation, digital production systems, and new energy technologies
• Engage in hands-on workshops such as solar-powered model car assembly, terracotta warrior crafting, and traditional paper-cutting
• Experience living cultural heritage through Qinqiang Opera and immersive Tang Dynasty cultural districts
