COP15 “Diverse Life, Colorful World” Children’s Research Initiative
In 2021, alongside the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), the “Diverse Life, Colorful World” initiative was launched with Kunming as its central hub, delivering a series of multi-dimensional biodiversity engagement activities.
The program brought together diverse stakeholders through an official launch ceremony and organized youth biodiversity field research expeditions in Yunnan and Hainan. In Kunming, students conducted thematic academic research on urban planning, water conservation, and ecological protection.
In addition, nearly 1,000 students participated in biodiversity-themed artistic creations, generating over 470,000 public votes and interactions, significantly amplifying public engagement.
