This five-day immersive study tour takes place in Luoyang, one of China’s most historically significant ancient capitals and a cradle of Chinese civilization.
Framed within the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the program connects history, archaeology, urban development, cultural heritage preservation, and ecological awareness into a multidisciplinary learning journey. Students explore how ancient wisdom, cultural continuity, and modern sustainability intersect in contemporary society.
Participants will:
• Visit iconic historical sites and museums to examine urban planning, dynastic culture, and archaeological discovery
• Explore the Longmen Grottoes and other UNESCO-recognized heritage landscapes, reflecting on cultural preservation and sustainable tourism
• Study peony culture as a lens into biodiversity, city branding, and ecological civilization
• Engage in hands-on workshops such as traditional crafts and heritage interpretation projects
• Participate in structured SDGs General Education modules connecting SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption), and SDG 15 (Life on Land)
• Complete reflection projects integrating humanities, environmental awareness, and global citizenship perspectives
Through inquiry-based learning and cultural immersion, students strengthen critical thinking, historical perspective, systems understanding, and sustainable development awareness—bridging ancient civilization with future responsibility.
Upon successful completion, students will receive an SDGs Practice Certificate under the PEPPA framework.
